Zero Queue · virtual queuing for water parks

The line stays.
The waiting moves.

The wristband waits in line, not the guest. QTime Zero Queue brings NFC wristbands, virtual queues, automated gates and central control together in a single platform.

The guest journey

Four steps, no queue

The booking starts at the gate: the system decides in real time whether to let the guest in now or assign a return time.

At the info point: one scan, wait times and bookings

Scan the wristband

The guest taps the wristband on the ride's NFC reader.

Get your turn

If the wait is below the threshold, GO appears; otherwise a return time is assigned.

Enjoy the park

Pools, relaxation, food and shows, while the wristband queues on the guest's behalf.

Come back and ride

A new scan recognises the booking and opens the gate, with no line.

Threshold configurable per ride, typically around 8 minutes of physical waiting.

The platform

From the wrist to the control room

An integrated physical and digital ecosystem. The experience is simple for guests because the complexity stays behind the scenes.

Per-ride rules, real-time monitoring, content management, diagnostics, statistics and guest flows, all from a single console.

Control room: ride status, statistics and remote device control
NFC

Wristband

Simple identification, built for the water park environment. It is the "token" of the experience.

VQ

Queue engine

Virtual queue with return windows calculated on actual capacity.

GATE

Automated gates

The reader identifies, the engine checks, the turnstile opens or stays closed.

INFO

Info points

Queue status, bookings and return times with a single scan.

OPS

Dashboard and device management

Wait times, flows and ride status in real time. Remote control of gates, readers, tablets, displays and kiosks: status, restart, content updates and diagnostics without going on site.

Two modes, one infrastructure

Included for everyone. Premium for those who choose it.

The same platform runs the included service and priority access, with the same gates and the same engine.

Normal Line

Included for all guests

  • Free virtual queue
  • Return slot assigned automatically
  • Immediate access when the queue is below threshold
  • No app required

Express Line

Paid priority access

  • Sold separately: a new revenue stream
  • Priority on participating rides
  • Skips the standard booking process
  • Priority configurable per ride

Special Jury Award · Parksmania Awards 2026

In operation since the 2026 season at an Italian water park, which on 9 October 2026 received the Special Jury Award at the 25th Parksmania Awards for introducing the Zero Queue virtual queuing system.

“A proprietary, accessible and practical solution that tackles a problem which can take up to four hours of a visit.”From the jury's citation (translated from Italian)

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does the Zero Queue virtual queue work?

Guests tap their NFC wristband on the ride's reader. If the wait is below the threshold they ride straight away; otherwise they get a return time and can enjoy the park meanwhile. When they come back, a new scan opens the gate with no line.

Do guests need an app or a smartphone?

No. Everything works through the wristband, the gates and the info points around the park: it is designed for a setting where carrying a phone is impractical.

What is the Express Line and how does it generate revenue?

It is priority access sold separately by the park: buyers skip the standard booking process on participating rides. It uses the same gates and engine as the free queue, so it is a new revenue stream with no new infrastructure.

Does it work with our existing turnstiles?

It depends on the model. The system talks to the turnstiles through a specific protocol: for other manufacturers' turnstiles we assess during the site visit whether integration is possible, possibly with dedicated development, or we propose gates that are already compatible.

What does the park operator see?

A control room with real-time wait times, flows and ride status, rules and thresholds configurable per ride, usage statistics and remote control of tablets, readers and gates.

Is the system already in use?

Yes, it has been running since the 2026 season at an Italian water park, which received the Special Jury Award at the Parksmania Awards 2026 for introducing the system.
